1-Day Emergency Pediatric First Aid

Service Description

This one-day Emergency Pediatric First Aid course has been designed for those who have an interest in child and infant basic life support. If you have a professional interest, i.e. you are a child-minder or school teacher, etc, for those intending to use as a childcare worker then this course partly fulfils the requirements for Nigeria and UK Ofsted and the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS). Ofsted and the Early Years Foundation Stage require you to have 12 hours of pediatric first aid training, so the 2-Day Level 3 Award in Pediatric First Aid would be required to fulfil their requirements. This 6 hour qualification also makes up the first half of the 12-hour course. Syllabus A range of subjects are covered including: Responsibilities and reporting Resuscitation Dealing with an unresponsive casualty Minor injuries Assessment of the situation Epilepsy Wounds and bleeding Anaphylaxis and Shock Certification Summative practical assessment is ongoing by the instructor, along with a written assessment. A three year Level 3 Award in Emergency Pediatric First Aid (Level 6 in Scotland) will be issued to the learner, subject to successful assessment. No external assessors are required. Numbers A maximum of 12 students are allowed and must be a minimum of 16 years of age and a certificate can be offered to all, subject to assessment. Location We are able to deliver this course on your site, subject to a pre-course assessment of your premises, reducing your costs in respect of additional time out and travelling.
